The Chocolate tour of London

There are many different ways to visit London: walking around, taking a bus ride, visiting museums…today I took a chocolate tour. Yep. This is a good way to visit London and to have a tasty time! A few weeks ago there was an offer on Time Out: £14 for a 2-hours tour , instead of £60 or so. During these 2 hours we walked around central London going from chocolatier to chocolatier.

  • The chocolate tour started at Paul A Young

Based on what our guide said: this is the only chocolatier where they actually make homemade chocolate. Their kitchen is just under the shop. Most of London bakeries and patisseries have their products cooked outside of London and they “import” them every day.

  • Hotel Chocolat

The next stop was the Hotel Chocolat another delicious shop in central London. They offer a wide range of chocolates: with wines and other alcool. Try the amoretto/raison. This is delicious.

  • Prestat: the Queen’s chocolatier

We have been told that after 3 years of providing something to the Queen, shop owners are allowed to display a kind of badge to prove it. This is one of them. In this place we have taste some truffles and pistacchio chocolate. The Truffles were amazing but I personally did not like the other one.

  • Charbonnel et Walker

Founded in 1875, the shop can be found on 173 New Bond Street. It can still be found here today. Their sea salt caramel is amazing, the rose chocolate was …interesting. Not the kind of chocolate I’m fond of but still interesting taste to discover.

    • Really? If the Chelsea one is as good as the one I did today you should have a great time! 🙂 You will also probably get discounts in the different places that will be visited 😉 I hope you will enjoy it, let me know how it goes! Thanks for commenting!
